Hi... I am Herold, from Kalpakkam (near Chennai) and my native place is Thrissur (Kerala). Currently I am doing my PhD in Educational Technology at IIT Bombay, Mumbai.
MY journey in Short:
Right from the days when I used to see Dexter's Laboratory in cartoon network, I always had an inclination to CREATE stuffs like him and ya even tried building a secret lab ;-P. I would be in the front row for all the science exhibitions and drawing competitions in school. That interest grew as a passion and made me learn design tools like Photoshop, Blender etc. from online courses on LYNDA.COM during my engineering college days. Even though I started my work as a software developer, I grabbed an opportunity to do UI designing for a Tablet application in my team, out of passion. And from there on, I started getting various types of projects on design. Being a solo designer in my team, I always yearned to work with a group of designers to gain and share knowledge and joined another company as UI designer for a short stint. That's when I came to know about CEED(Common Entrance Exam for Design), quit my job and got admission into IDC School of Design.
Two years of IDC was a roller coaster ride, where I realised more about myself other than understanding design. It was during this period that my interest towards the domain of education grew and made me realise the tremendous possibilities of applying design into this field. This motivated me to do my doctoral research in the field of Educational Technology.
Freelancing:
To keep in touch with designing, I am willing to take up freelance work related to my skill set. In the projects section of this website, I have not uploaded many of my work due to copyright reasons, but could show them personally during our discussions for the freelance project.
